Ribbons of Blue aims to provide teachers and their students with practical, hands-on learning experiences focussing on the sustainability of local waterways, wetlands and their ecosystems.
Through a better understanding of these important areas, and by developing the motivation and ability to care for them, we believe our young people will play an important role in the future of these beautiful and significant places.
All Ribbons of Blue resources and activities are FREE to WA teachers and students and can be part of the water and biodiversity focus for the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI WA).
From September 27, 2013 the Ribbons of Blue program will no longer operate. The Department of Parks and Wildlife has had to restrucutre its education activities to align with budget efficiencies. Lesson materials will still be downloadable from DPaW website http://education.dpaw.wa.gov.au/
